Tennis Europe & La Manga Club launch partnership

Non-profit tennis organising body Tennis Europe has announced a three-year partnership agreement with leading tennis and golf resort La Manga Club, under which the award-winning club will be recognised as an ‘Official Partner’ of the European Tennis Federation.

Situated in Murcia, Spain, La Manga Club boasts first-class sporting facilities, including a 28-court multi surface tennis centre and academy, eight football pitches, three championship golf courses and two cricket grounds, alongside a variety of accommodation options, ranging from self-catering to 5-star luxury.

The deal opens up the possibility of La Manga Club hosting a number of Tennis Europe’s key conferences and events in the coming years.

Tennis Europe Chief Executive Officer Olli Mäenpää explained, “This is our first partnership with a leisure resort, and is ideal for Tennis Europe as La Manga Club is a hugely attractive option for players of all abilities and ages. Not only are we proud to recognise and endorse La Manga Club as the leading resort of its kind in Europe, but also its location, facilities and experience provide the perfect setting for our conferences, which provides La Manga Club an ideal opportunity to showcase its services to the key decisions makers from our 49 member nations and the wider tennis industry.”

La Manga Club Director General Julio Delgado Parejo added, “We are very pleased to have the recognition of Tennis Europe, who are able to offer us a unique platform to communicate our services and facilities throughout Europe. We intend to take full advantage of the opportunity to extend our existing relationships with national federations and the tennis community in general and it is a pleasure to know that we will be helping European tennis through our partnership.”

The agreement will come into effect on October 1st 2009.
