The Athenaeum hotel has officially unveiled the boutique Whisky Bar. Whisky-lovers and novices alike can enjoy over 270 rare whiskies in the sumptuously designed bar housed within the five star decadence of the Athenaeum in Mayfair.

The Whisky Bar is a destination hotel bar in its own right offering a quintessentially English ambience, which has been brought to life by the designer Martin Hulbert of Fox Linton Associates. The whiskies on offer range from the finest single malts to the most rare from mothballed distilleries.

The bar is discrete and full of quiet corners that are warm and welcoming - the perfect place to meet before going out - or coming back. Black and white photography adorns the walls and gives a nod to historic London moments as you step back in time to savour the world’s best whiskies.

To accompany the many whiskies on offer, the Athenaeum has created mouth watering nibbles and food-pairing menus with many savoury bites created to enhance the flavours of the whiskies.

For those who like the more personal touch, a dedicated Whisky Connoisseur can provide guests with a bespoke whisky tasting and food pairing experience from the comfort and elegance of their own room.
