Lake Vyrnwy Hotel forecasts ‘brolly autumn and winter’

18th August 2009 Print
With the Met Office having failed miserably in its prediction of a ‘Barbecue Summer’, Lake Vyrnwy Hotel, close to Snowdonia, is forecasting that those taking one of its special autumn or winter breaks will definitely need a brolly.

In fact, so confident is the hotel that it will rain or snow that packages include not just a limited-edition Lake Vyrnwy umbrella but also a family of bath ducks…just in case that’s all the weather’s fit for.

However, should the unexpected happen and the weather stays fine throughout the short break then there’s a reward of a free bottle of champagne per couple when they leave.

Lake Vyrnwy Hotel’s ‘Brolly Breaks’ are available between 27 September ’09 and 25 March 2010 excluding Christmas, New Year, Bank Holidays and Valentine’s.

The price per couple is from £405 which includes three nights’ accommodation with breakfast, five-course dinners in the hotel’s award-winning restaurant on the first two nights, plus cream tea on the first two afternoons. This priced is based on a garden-view room…rooms with a view of the lake start at £455.

The four-star Lake Vyrnwy Hotel is in a spectacular location overlooking a mountain-ringed lake – the setting for much of this year’s Springwatch programme from the BBC. The hotel boasts a state-of-the-art Spa with the full range of treatments, plus for lovers of the great outdoors – whatever the weather – 58 miles of footpaths which run through the Estate and optional outdoor pursuits such as clay pigeon shooting and fishing.
