Air France powers A320’s with latest engine technology
The latest Airbus A321 to be delivered to Air France and which entered into service last weekend on the medium-haul network (Europe and Middle East), is powered by engines benefiting from the Tech 56 technology developed by CFM, like the other 30 aircraft of the A320 family ordered in 2007.Apart from being more fuel-saving and therefore emitting less carbon dioxide (CO2), these engines also enable aircraft to reduce their nitric oxide (NOX) emissions by 20%. Air France has also decided to equip the engines of these new aircraft with optional nozzles to lower noise levels.
Furthermore, these aircraft are fitted with a new cabin and colour scheme, offering more space in cabin height and width, with new practical and attractive fixtures such as more roomy baggage compartments.
Thanks to a new, more spacious cabin, offering less noise and more light, Air France continues to provide its customers with enhanced comfort during their trip, wherever possible.
In all, 7 new aircraft of the A320 family will be delivered during 2008:
* 2 to operate in Metropolitan France (in January and February)
* 3 on European routes (in February and March)
* 2 to be operated to Amman, Damascus, Yerevan and Tel Aviv (in March/April)
