Successful launch for Air France’s new boarding satellite

10th April 2008 Print
Since its inauguration on Sunday 30 March 2008 at 0620 (local time), the new boarding satellite of Terminal 2E at Paris-Charles de Gaulle dedicated to Air France and built by Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport has already handled over 27,000 customers and 120 flights.

Thanks to a progressive entry into service, the transfer of flights to the new boarding satellite went smoothly and without incident. Since its launch, a number of Air France and SkyTeam alliance medium-haul and long-haul outbound and inbound flights to and from Africa, Asia, South America, the United States and Europe have been arriving at and departing from parking stands at Terminal 2E at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport.

The successful entry into service of Terminal 2E marks a new phase in the development of Air France and SkyTeam’s premier European hub. By grouping together the majority of its flights at the two terminals that face one another (2E and 2F) and by increasing the number of gate-parked long-haul flights at these terminals to over 80% this summer, Air France is facilitating connections for its customers.

With the opening of 2E, Air France is making travel simpler and smoother by optimizing flights departing from and connecting at Paris-Charles de Gaulle.
