Low-cost terminal fees in Marseille

14th May 2008 Print
Air France expressed its satisfaction with the decision taken by the Council of State on 7 May 2008, cancelling the amount of airport fees applicable in the MP2 low-cost terminal at Marseille-Provence airport for 2006 and 2007.

This decision accepted the suit filed by Air France on 9 June 2006 with the Council of State, shortly after the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Marseille-Provence had announced heavily discounted passenger fees for airlines using this terminal.

The unfair treatment was unacceptable for Air France: the MP2 rates, far lower than those for the main terminal, were not justified either by the costs relative to this terminal or by the quality of services rendered.

This is why Air France filed the complaint, as the airline is fully in favour of lower airport fees as long as they apply to all and do not result in unfair competition.
