Air France launches video widget

7th July 2008 Print
Delivering the most innovative customer relations solutions on the web, Air France has adopted a unique new communication and distribution channel, the video widget. The widget, developed by French start-up Djingle, was a hit from the word go, immediately winning a prestigious Travolution Award in London.

Air France has launched this first video widget on the UK market, enabling its customers and prospects to automatically receive videos of destinations and exclusive, personalized offers as soon as they are available, as well as the chance to access a wide range of services grouped together in a “City Guide”.

Air France chose the French software editor's technology to help it develop and successfully market a direct, innovative channel for keeping in touch with travellers.

After downloading the video widget, users identify the offers they wish to receive by selecting their departure airport, favourite destinations or a travel theme (cultural, business, shopping, etc.). They then receive an alert on their desktop, informing them in real time of all available relevant promotional offers.

A single click takes them to whole range of services including promotional fares, an integrated booking engine, along with destination-related content (video, local weather forecast, currency converter, Google Map, etc.).

Air France also facilitates customer travel arrangements by providing direct online check-in via the widget.

"We have entered the 1-to-1 era and web users are currently seeking tools like widgets that allow them to identify the information they wish to receive according to their preferences or requirements. We are very happy to be working with Air France to deliver enhanced customer service", said Régis Cazanave, CEO and co-founder of Djingle.

Thanks to the Djingle video widget, Air France can not only offer very high quality video and incorporate personalized content in line with user preferences and profiles, but can also track the tool’s marketing and sales performance in real time.

“Djingle has perfectly understood our sales and marketing imperatives, and has developed this innovative solution to meet our powerful online strategy”, said Patrick Roux, VP Marketing. “We are planning to further develop CRM solutions for this widget at the end of the trial launch in the UK”.

The video widget incorporates Djingle’s Push2Peers technology, which guarantees high quality video content.

This innovation, which recently won an award at the prestigious Travolution Awards in London, was recognized as “innovative, slick, well-designed, convenient, fun and the clear winner in the category”.
