Air France releases exclusive music compilation “In The Air” Produced in collaboration with BETC and the music labels “Village Vert” and “Green United Music”, Air France’s latest musical offering, the “In The Air” album is the next step in the brand’s musical journey. The compilation conjures sounds of well-being and serenity – a trademark of the brand soundtrack established 10 years ago.

Air France’s first ever album features symbolic tracks already used on board the aircraft, plus three exclusive pieces composed especially for the occasion (Hope Sandoval, Telepopmusik and The Shoes featuring Kelly De Martino). For this next musical step, it was logical that the compilation take its name from the on board Air France music channel itself – “In The Air”.

The album will be available to the general public digitally via the main legal music download platforms i.e. Itunesstore, Fnac.fr, etc. (titled Compilation Air France “In The Air”), and also on the dedicated Myspace page - myspace.com/afintheair.

In 1999, Air France chose to illustrate its new promise “To make the sky one of the best places on Earth” with a TV commercial directed by Michel Gondry. The film carries a piece composed by the Chemical Brothers, featuring the delicate guest vocals of the American singer Hope Sandoval, which helped create the strong musical identity of the brand.

True to its innovative approach, Air France continues to reinvent the soundtrack on board its aircraft*, by offering a cutting edge music selection, regularly updated to appeal to passengers’ emotions and encourage them to relax and dream. A natural extension of the brand’s positioning, which promises its consumers well-being and rejuvenation, and illustrates the international dimension of the company, with the artists selected coming from all over the world.

*The compilation will be played on board during the next two months while taxiing before take off and landing.
