Air France signs equal opportunities charter
Air France has signed a charter of voluntary commitments, in the presence of the Secretary of State for French Overseas Territories, and the Inter-ministerial Delegate for Equal Opportunities for overseas French citizens.“Under this charter, Air France will make travel easier between Metropolitan France and the French Overseas Departments and Territories, by offering about 60,000 seats in the lowest fare category applicable at the time of the flight, excluding special offers, valid for travel between 15 June and 5 September every year (peak period)”, declared Pierre-Henri Gourgeon, CEO of Air France.
The offer will cover about 20,000 seats on the Metropolitan France / Guadeloupe route, 20,000 seats on the Metropolitan France / Martinique route, 7,000 seats on the Metropolitan France / Guyana route and 14,000 seats on the Metropolitan France / Reunion route.
Other measures are detailed in the charter, such as offering low-season rates at a 33% discount for disadvantaged passengers, and maintaining additional baggage allowances.
“Air France, which has been operating flights to Guadeloupe, Martinique, Guyana and Reunion for over 60 years, has always been aware of the importance of regular scheduled air services for the economic and social development of these regions” stated Mr. Gourgeon.
Air France currently operates six daily flights by Boeing 777-300 between Paris-Orly and the French Overseas Departments.
