14th July 2009 Print
Air France has signed a code-share agreement with the Swiss airline Baboo, to enable its customers to travel as from 1 July 2009 to 5 new destinations in France with an AF flight number on departure from Geneva.

Starting on 1 July 2009, Geneva will be directly linked to:

- Biarritz 5 times a week
- Bordeaux 6 times a week
- Nice 12 times a week
- Saint Tropez 3 times a week
- Toulouse 6 times a week

Flights to Bordeaux, Nice, Saint Tropez and Toulouse will be operated by Baboo with aircraft such as the Embraer E190 with 100 seats and the Bombardier Dash Q 400 with 74 seats. To Biarritz, the 3 weekly services by Baboo, which will have Air France flight numbers, will be in addition to Air France’s 2 weekly flights operated by Régional with Embraer RJ145 aircraft with 50 seats.

“Switzerland is an important market for Air France and I welcome the signing of this code-share agreement with Baboo, whose high quality of service I have enjoyed several times. It complements our existing offer of services from Geneva to Paris-Charles de Gaulle,” declared Jean de Lapasse, Air France and KLM’s General Manager Alps and Balkans.

“Baboo, the airline of French-speaking Switzerland, is delighted and proud to be cooperating with one of the best European airlines to offer its customers more than 60 weekly flights between Geneva and the French Provinces”, declared Jacques Bankir, Baboo’s Chief Executive.

Air France operates 1,700 daily flights. Its fleet comprises over 400 aircraft in operation, including 144 regional aircraft. Air France and KLM merged in May 2004, giving rise to Europe’s leading air transport group. The two airlines offer their passengers all the benefits of a combined network, with 244 destinations in 104 countries. Air France is a founding member of the SkyTeam alliance, whose services have global coverage. Air France was set up in 1933.

Set up in 2003 in Geneva, Baboo flies to 15 destinations (excluding charters) from Geneva and has carried close to 1,000,000 passengers. Baboo offers a wide range of services aimed at business and private travellers, with a product that stands out. Its fleet comprises two Dash 8-Q400s and three Embraer 190s. Baboo employs 220 people, all across the Baboo network.
