Gulf Air and Ahli United Bank join hands for cheaper travel

Gulf Air, the national airline of the Kingdom of Bahrain, has joined hands with Ahli United Bank (AUB), one of the region's leading banking groups, to offer the bank's credit card holders a 10% discount when they choose to travel with Gulf Air.

In a ceremony held at the Gulf Manama Sales Office, Gulf Air General Manager Bahrain Mr. Abdulmalik Al Saei and Ahli United Bank Group Head Marketing and Product Development, Mr. Greg Park signed an agreement to this effect.

"Gulf Air is pleased to be a partner with AUB in this promotion, which is a winning combination," says Mr. Al Saei. "As the airline with the largest network in the Middle East and providing seamless connections to the Far East, Indian sub continent, Europe and Africa, AUB customers can take advantage of this discount, whether it is for business or leisure. I am equally pleased that we are able to launch this promotion at the beginning of summer when large number of families travel together on holidays."

Under this scheme, Gulf Air offers 10% discount on its economy fares to all Ahli United Bank Credit Card holders when they purchase tickets with their credit card to travel to any of the airline’s 40 destinations. The offer comes into effect immediately, valid until 31 December 2008 and tickets can be purchased from any of the Gulf Air sales outlets in Bahrain - located in Sanad, Seef and Manama.

"AUB is continuously striving to offer its customers products and services that have added value. With this tie-up with Gulf Air, our credit card customers would be able to benefit from substantial savings on travel costs by getting an immediate 10% discount on economy tickets with Gulf Air," says Mr. Park.

"AUB's credit card customers also get other unique benefits such as travel medical insurance and the opportunity to collect points which can be redeemed to get frequent flyer miles on Gulf Air," he concludes.
