Gulf Air introduces revamped website for frequent flyers

28th May 2008 Print
Gulf Air, known for its generous loyalty programmes, has revamped its Frequent flyer programme (FFP) website adding enhanced features and greater functionality to its public and FFP member web pages.

At the same time, the airline has also launched a new management system to support the FFP department in processing applications and managing its member accounts.

"The revamping of websites and the introduction of a new FFP management system are just two of several initiatives aimed at refocusing our services and getting closer to our loyal customers," says Gulf Air Acting Executive Vice President Marketing and Sales, Mr. Danny Barranger.

"Our team has worked for the past one year reviewing the existing website and scoping the new one based on customer-testing and feedback. It offers greater functionality, flexibility and ease of use and I am sure our FFP members will find it a more rewarding experience."

"On the other hand, the new FFP management system, developed by Hitit Computer Services, is linked to many of the internal airline systems, thereby providing greater customer knowledge and management for us, which in turn, will help us service our clients in a more efficient manner," concludes Mr. Barranger.

The new website comes with several features offering a great user- experience. For instance, members will be able to nominate up to eight of their family members online and make changes to any four of those in a year - all online instead of through a paper application; they can also make claims for missing miles from both Gulf Air and partners online, reducing the need to attach copies of tickets and boarding cards, as in the past.

"One of our objectives in revamping our website was to provide our members greater control over their account," adds Gulf Air Manager Loyalty Marketing Lesley Britton.

"With the enhanced features now our members can access their account any time of the day or night at their convenience, check their statement, claim miles and add family at any time of the day or night. We also have a survey online and look forward to receiving feedback from our members on these new tools."

Members can take advantage of the new mileage calculator, where they can quickly find out the number of miles they can earn or need to redeem for specific flights, based on a one way activity.

They can also a get a snapshot of their travel plans, i.e., they can see details of flights they have booked but have yet to fly.

New members will be provided with their membership number immediately on enrolment so that they can start earning miles straight away.
