Gulf Air shows commitment to Bahraini workforce

9th January 2009 Print
National carrier Gulf Air has reached another milestone in its ongoing ‘Bahrainisation’ efforts. The airline's financial accounting department is now fully staffed and managed by Bahrainis and is in line with the progress made a couple of months ago when the airline’s revenue accounting department became 100% Bahraini managed.

"We are proud to have a pool of talented Bahrainis in our company, and as one of the largest employers in the Kingdom and a fully owned Bahraini company, this achievement is perfectly in alignment with the Kingdom's vision to infuse local talents in the mainstream workforce” says Gulf Air Chief Executive Officer Mr. Björn Näf.

"The local staff are talented, and with the right mentoring and coaching, Gulf Air can build its future management equipped with the right capabilities. We are proud that the majority of our finance functions in the Headquarters are now run by qualified, talented and experienced Bahrainis."

The financial accounting department is responsible for the processing of all related accounting functions of the airline including payables, receivables, payroll, fixed assets and general ledger maintenance, as well as dealing with and managing external regulatory and audit parties.
