Thomson named amongst value for money airlines

16th March 2009 Print
Thomson Airways certainly keeps good company. Alongside prestigious flag-carriers like Emirates and BA, it clinched a spot on the Sunday Times Travel Magazine’s Value For Money Awards list, picking up a runner-up gong in the Best Airline category.

The travel gurus at the glossy had this to say: “Our team was impressed with the savings regional travellers can make. Thomson flies out of more than 20 UK airports, so you needn’t schlep to Heathrow.”

Along with big hubs like Gatwick and Manchester, Thomson Airways also fly out of smaller, regional airports like Bournemouth, Bristol and Blackpool. In total, Thomson Airways jets off from 23 airports up and down the country so you can skip the hike down to London and fly direct from your doorstep.

Simply Amazing
Thomson’s sister company, Simply Travel, was also a winner. It beat off some pretty stiff competition to pick up the coveted Best Tour Operator award.

The guys at Sunday Times Travel Magazine explained: “Its selection of hotels and self-catering options throughout southern Europe is impeccably reliable. The discounts are seriously impressive, and they’ve cut out the hidden extras, which means the value you find is what you’ll end up paying. And that’s what we’re all looking for in 2009.”
