St Valentine's salsa on the Isle of Wight

30th January 2008 Print
St Valentine's salsa on the Isle of Wight Give your Valentine a day to remember and book a romantic salsa weekend at The Grange in the Isle of Wight. The Grange is a beautiful Georgian country house in the charming Old Village of Shanklin. Nestled in greenery, it is very secluded. Yet, it is only moments from the picturesque pubs and thatched tea rooms.

The salsa weekend is open to both beginners and improvers, singles and couples. An offshoot of Skyros Holistic Holidays, this is authentic Cuban salsa!

Salsa, with its mixture of structure and improvisation, allows for spirited dancing and invigorating choreography. The dancers will be able to master the steps and turns of Salsa. They will tune into the sensuous and scintillating sounds and movements of a dance created by the blending of Cuban rhythms, Puerto Rican music, Caribbean beats and American jazz, explore musicality and seek their own interpretation. The course will further explore the underlying dynamics of successful leading and following. John Harris, the course tutor, will also offer pre-breakfast yoga for early risers.

The Grange offers a wide range of weekend courses. In February, Tavistock senior psychologist Kate Daniels is running a life coaching course ‘Walk Tall, Feel Fabulous’. The following weekend, it's Pilates and the Alexander Technique, facilitated by Judi Hammond, the UK’s best Alexander Technique teacher. Other courses include ‘Singing and Songwriting’, Creative Writing, Yoga, Painting and much more. The Grange is an offshoot of Skyros, the holistic holiday company (skyros.com), and its facilitators are among the very best.

Taking a course at The Grange is a great way to try something different, meet interesting people and possibly return home with newly discovered talents and possibilities. Should they wish, course participants can also book a massage, a beauty treatment or opt for one-to-one tuition in a subject of their choice. Visitors can join The Grange on a B&B basis as well.
