United Airlines launches credit card with MBNA

MBNA today announced the launch of a new credit card with United Airlines. The card offers a competitive rate of interest plus travel rewards through the award-winning United Mileage Plus programme.

The new United Mileage Plus American Express Credit Card from MBNA is being launched with a special offer for applications received before 30 April 2009: 2 miles for every £1 spent on purchases using the card for the first six months after the account is opened. After this, Cardmembers will earn a standard 1 mile for every £1 spent on purchases using the card.*

In addition, Cardmembers may also earn valuable Mileage Plus miles by flying on United , renting cars, staying at hotels or using the products and services of Mileage Plus programme partners. United Airlines is a member of Star Alliance, so Cardmembers are also able to earn miles whenever they fly with any of the Alliance airlines such as bmi, Lufthansa , Singapore Airlines and US Airways.

Cardmembers can redeem their Mileage Plus miles for air travel, upgrades, United Red Carpet Club memberships and more.

The new United Mileage Plus American Express Credit Card from MBNA offers 0% p.a. on balance transfers for the first 12 months from the date the account is opened (3% handling fee applies), plus 0 % on card purchases for the first three months. A typical rate of 15.9% APR (variable) applies.
