Easter ‘eggscapades’ for all in Staffordshire

Officially launching on Good Friday (10 April) is Weston Park’s new Granary Shop and Gallery. The renovated North Wing of the seventeenth century stately home will display changing exhibitions throughout the year and the Granary Shop will feature locally sourced food and drink.

Eggsciting Easter egg hunts are also making trails across the county. The Ancient High House, the tallest timber framed house in England built in 1595, will host a day of ‘Easter Eggcentrics’ on Saturday 11 April where you can enjoy egg decorating, Easter bonnet workshops and chocolate egg hunts.

From 6 – 17 April, Dr. Johnson’s Birthplace Museum in Lichfield will host ‘Sam’s Fantastic Easter Egg Hunt’, a fun and fact-packed Easter trail for all the family with competitions and prizes. Taking place between the 10-13 April at Biddulph Grange Garden is a Cadbury’s chocolate egg trail around its exotic mix of Victorian, Chinese and Egyptian gardens.

See Staffordshire from the sky by hopping on the Trentham Estate’s new ‘Potters Wheel’, a 60-metre high observation wheel allowing breathtaking views over the surrounding countryside.

Experience some swashbuckling fun at Tutbury Castle’s Land Pirates Bank Holiday event taking place between the 12 – 13 April. The castle will be filled with buccaneers, strumpets and pick pockets, re-enacting scenes from a fictional battle between a gang of pirates and highwayman.
