An Orang-Utan for Easter

The 15 day experience of a lifetime takes in the most beautiful and enchanting surroundings of Borneo rainforest and gives travellers the opportunity to meet the locals, learn about the environment and communities and make a positive contribution to the diminishing rainforest and endangered orang-utans that live there.
Experienced local guides pick up guests from their hotel – from five star hotels to home stays – and accompany them on an amazing journey through Sabah’s virgin rainforest, experiencing beautiful vistas such as cascading waterfalls and a wide variety of wildlife in their natural habitat, including monkeys, elephants, an assortment of birds and of course, the amazing orang-utan.
Having had the opportunity to spot the orang-utans in their natural surroundings, Travel Indochina’s guests will have the opportunity to visit the infamous Sepilok Orang-utan Rehabilitation Centre to see rehabilitated orang-utans living freely in the protected Kabili Sepilok forest reserve.
Chris Orme, General Manager of Travel Indochina, explains: “One of the reasons why the Borneo Orang-utan Adventure has become so popular is that our customers are very keen to experience “real” destinations and travel responsibly and this trip enables them to see a variety of wildlife in their stunning natural habitat in the knowledge they are helping both the animals and their environment.”
If travellers are unable to get away this Easter, all is not lost as the Borneo Orang-utan Adventure will also be available on 18th September 2008.
For those of you who are unable to get away this year, why not get the next best thing and adopt a cute baby orang-utan – the Sepilok Orang-utan Appeal is offering this unique opportunity for people to learn more about these incredible creatures. This heart-felt gift will include a certificate, the story of their adopted orang-utan, photographs and a progress report of their development.
The Borneo Orang-utan Adventure costs £2,080 per person which includes return flights with Malaysia Airlines, all accommodation, transfers, guides, boats and the majority of meals. A £400 donation will also be made to the Sepilok Orang-utan Appeal UK – Orangutanappeal.org.
Travel Indochina has 15 years’ experience in operating small group journeys to “the real” Asia and unlike many other travel companies limits its group size to a maximum of 15 people. The smaller groups enable travellers to gain the best from both worlds - greater access to the local culture and plenty of opportunities for independent exploration.
