Easter egg dancing at Blists Hill Visitors to Blists Hill Victorian Town, near Ironbridge, Shropshire over the Easter Bank holiday weekend from 21-24 March can take part in the residents’ Easter celebrations.

They are invited to arrive wearing an Easter bonnet and join in the Easter Parade with prizes awarded each day; families can also watch the unusual pastime of egg dancing when village folk are blindfolded and have to dance across a street, trying their utmost to avoid stepping on eggs that are carefully placed along their route.

Other activities include a ‘hunt-the-chick’ competition, following a trail of clues around the recreated Victorian town, and the opportunity to take part in hands-on workshops including candle dipping and peg doll making.

The nearby Coalport China Museum will also be running special Easter themed creative workshops over the holiday weekend when families can put their artistic talents to good use at china painting and clay modelling sessions.

Both Blists Hill and Coalport are included among then ten Ironbridge Gorge Museums. A Passport to all ten, which is valid for twelve months and allows multiple return visits, costs £14.95 per adult, £12.95 for the 60 plus, £9.95 for students and children and £48 for a family of two adults and three children aged up to 18 years in full time education; under 5s free.

Individual entry ticket in to Blists Hill is £10.50 adults; £7.50 children and £9.50 for the 60 plus. The museums are open 10am to 5pm; activities vary from day to day and some carry an extra charge in addition to the museum entrance fee.
