26th January 2009 Print

An expanded programme of walking short breaks for independent travellers - including rambling and gourmet dining in France's Champagne region - has been announced by specialist operator, Belle France.

The above 'Charm of Champagne' walking itinerary follows a 'gentle' route between Ambonnay and Champillon taking in breathtaking countryside, forests and vineyards.

Featured hotels are hand picked and renowned for their character and cuisine including the elegant Villa Eugene - once the private residence of the Mercier champagne family - and the magnificent four-star Chateau Royal Champagne-Bellevue, home to a gourmet restaurant.

On offer between April and October, prices start from £581 per person (twin share) inclusive of return Dover/Dunkerque ferry crossing for car and passengers and three nights' accommodation (one night B&B, the remainder half-board).

Detailed route notes/maps are also provided, along with luggage transfers between hotels.
