Britain’s leading guided walking holiday specialist, Ramblers Worldwide Holidays, has just launched an exciting choice of new holidays to Portugal. They include an unusual 10 day rail and walk holiday which leisurely meanders through some of the country’s most stunning countryside and cities.

This journey begins in Oporto, capital of the north, before taking local trains via Espinho, Sernada do Vouga then onto Aveiro and Coimbra – with walking en route.

One stays three nights in Coimbra – enjoying its many delights – as well as walks in the hills of Serra da Lousa, again using local train services.

Then, its south to Caldas da Rainha, ‘The Queen’s Spa’, renowned for its healing waters and just a short distance from the wild Atlantic coast.
