Halloween fun at the Kent & East Sussex Railway
There is plenty of spooky fun to be had at the Kent & East Sussex Railway this October when they host their popular Halloween Fun Week which is packed full of spine tingling tricks and treats for the whole family.
Halloween fun week will be taking place between Monday 26 and Friday 30 October when families can enjoy return train rides to Bodiam station with “spooktacular” entertainment on board every departure. Get up close and personal with ‘Wendy the Witch’ and her menagerie of reptiles, creepy crawlies and animals of the night whilst ‘Mr Mystery’ provides magic and mayhem assisted by ‘Billy the Magic Rabbit’. Back at Tenterden station there is the chance for everyone to test their creative skills and take part in the special pumpkin carving workshop available between 11am and 4:00pm.
On Friday 30 and Saturday 31 October from 4pm the railway will be hosting “Fright Nights” when families can really get in the spirit of things as they take part in exciting activities including scary face painting and pumpkin carving.
When the clock strikes 6pm the creepy fun really begins as the Railway’s “Fright Night Steam Train” pulls away from the station. The vintage steam train will take visitors on a return ride to Bodiam and families will want to keep their eyes peeled for characters along the way including ‘Chainsaw Man’ and the fantastic firework display at Northiam station! On board “Mr Mystery” and “Billy the Magic Rabbit” will be performing a spell binding magic act for passengers and every child will receive a yummy snack box to enjoy. ‘Wendy the Witch’ also joins the Fright Night trains with a selection of concealed creatures – be afraid, be very afraid!
Families are encouraged to come in fancy dress, the scarier the better.
On Fright Nights the restaurant at Tenterden station will remain open until 6pm and visitors can enjoy delicious light meals and snacks.
