Half term fun at the Heritage Motor Centre

The Heritage Motor Centre at Gaydon, home to the world's largest collection of British cars, is organising a number of fun filled activities for families to enjoy during October half term.

On Sunday 25 October, the Heritage Motor Centre will play host to the ‘Large Model Aircraft Show’. Organised by The Large Model Association, this fantastic indoor show will feature over 100 large radio controlled model aircraft, many of which have starred in feature films. Models will include Wellington, Lancaster and Vulcan RAF bombers all with wingspans from 10ft - 22ft. Visitors will be able to watch modelling demonstrations and enjoy an experience in an aircraft and radio-controlled aircraft simulator, plus at 2.15pm a model aircraft of a Vulcan & Wellington bomber will fly past.

From 24 October - 1 November, visitors can enjoy a host of daily activities including; Go Karts (8yrs+ & 1.35m tall) where the family can enjoy the thrills and challenges racing on a purpose built track or for the younger ones the Miniature Roadway allows children aged 3-7 to navigate roundabouts and road junctions, or perhaps ride as a passenger on the 4x4 Experience and see first hand the extreme capabilities of an off-road vehicle (5 yrs+). Sessions run daily weather permitting, from 11am – 4:30pm and are open to non-museum visitors.

Families can also participate in the Museums week long Halloween quiz and children completing their quizzes will each receive a small Halloween treat. On Sunday 1 November, the Halloween theme continues with trick or treat children's arts and craft activities in the Education room from 11am - 3pm.
