Spot the birds with Pensthorpe’s floodlit feeds

For a fascinating insight into all the rare and colourful birds at Pensthorpe Nature Reserve this autumn and winter, come to one of the floodlit feeds taking place from 24th October 2009 to 28th February 2010.

Daily at 4pm until 31st December and then from 3pm thereafter, the feeds are free to watch if you have paid to enter the reserve or spent £2 or more in the shop. Otherwise there is just a small charge of just £2.

And there’s no need to worry about the cold, because you can enjoy the floodlit feeds from the warm and comfortable Viewing Gallery. From there you will get a full commentary from the reserve’s wardens who will tell you about the breed of birds that are coming in to feed and why, and will then be on hand to answer any questions you may have about birds, and winter feeding here or at home.

Deb Jordan, co-owner of Pensthorpe Nature Reserve says: “Our floodlit feeds have been very popular in the past because it’s an ideal way to see the birds up close and learn more about then during the colder times of the year. Our wardens are very well informed and often the questions by our visitors after the floodlit feed are about how they can best feed the birds in their own gardens through the winter.”
