Good sales figures for West Lothian

West Lothian is one the more popular areas in Scotland’s central belt for new-home buyers and Strathclyde Homes’ two developments, Scholars’ Gate, Bathgate and Newhills, Fauldhouse are proving the point. Both developments have shown good sales figures in a slow market.

This has encouraged the company to prepare new showhomes at both developments. At Scholars’ Gate, Strathclyde Homes is averaging one new home sale per week as homebuyers take advantage of the stable prices and attractive incentives, including the rent2buy scheme. Prices start from £132,995 for a two-bedroom apartment, £158,000 for a three-bedroom apartment and £177,500 for a house.

Strathclyde Homes’ sales and marketing director Neil Gaffney says: “We are very aware that the number of mortgage products available to homebuyers has reduced considerably lately and those that are available are attracting higher arrangement fees, but those with equity in their existing homes should still have little difficulty in finding a mortgage product to suit them.”

The new Burns showhome is due to open soon and is a superb example of a large family home that offers flexibility of use.

Close buy at Newhills, Strathclyde Homes is maintaining the momentum with six homes already sold and a showhome due to open in September. Prices at Newhills start from £159,995 for a three-bedroom house.

Neil adds: “The house styles at Newhills are based on our successful designs at nearby Scholars’ Gate. Three-bedroom homes seem to be the most popular house styles for homebuyers yet there is a shortage of them.

“Confidence in the housing market is relatively low right now, but I would encourage those who have been thinking of moving to visit Scholars’ Gate and Newhills and have a chat with our sales advisers.
