Old steel yard given new lease of life

Riverside Point is set to feature 342 homes, including one and two-bedroom apartments, two and three-bedroom terrace and semi-detached houses, three and four-bedroom townhouses and four-bedroom detached homes.
The development is located off Kings Inch Road, opposite the ‘X-scape’ indoor ski centre and Braehead shopping centre and retail park, which now has over one million square feet of shopping and leisure facilities.
The new homes will be built on a 20 acre site and building is expected to commence in March 2007. Sales are due to launch early May, and Diana Newton, sales director for Redrow Homes (Scotland) urges customers to get in quickly, saying: “Register on the priority mailing list to ensure that you don’t miss out on our fantastic launch event and the first release prices”.
Colin Crombie, managing director, for Larbert-based Redrow Homes (Scotland), says: “We are extremely excited about the Braehead development. The homes will have such widespread appeal to all kinds of home buyers that we are expecting interest to be sky high.
“The location of this new development is absolutely fantastic. The overall master plan for redevelopment of the Braehead area, including redundant dock areas, allows for junction improvements on the M8 as well as road improvements around the shopping centre and the construction of a new riverside park. Our development will benefit from these improvements.”
Redrow’s exciting new scheme will be located on the site of the former MacFarlane’s steel yard. Prices will be set nearer the time but are expected to start from £90,000 for a one-bedroom apartment and £240,000 for a four-bedroom detached home, offering excellent value for money in a much sought after area.
The site also benefits from being in a great location, as it is situated just six miles west of Glasgow, meaning it is potentially only a 15-minute drive from the bustling, vibrant heart of the city.
Travel connections around the Braehead development are excellent with easy access to the M8 leading to Greenock, Kilmarnock and beyond.
It is a perfect addition to Redrow’s portfolio in the Scotland, complementing the existing and popular developments in Glasgow, Edinburgh, North Lanarkshire, South Lanarkshire, Fife, Ayrshire and Perth and Kinross.
Larbert-based Redrow Homes (Scotland) is a subsidiary of Redrow plc, which builds circa 5,000 homes across the UK each year.
