Houses in favour at Braehead

13th July 2007 Print
Glasgow by night… Redrow’s new Riverside Point development at Braehead is within easy reach of the city and all its attractions Award winning developer Redrow Homes has stolen a march on the competition at Braehead by including a selection of family sized houses in the first phase of its Riverside Point venture.

Would-be purchasers rushed to snap up the first few detached houses available from Redrow and those who missed out have put their names down for future releases of detached houses, as well as some of the semi-detached and terraced designs still to go on sale.

Mary McHutchison, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (Scotland) comments: “We’ve had a big demand for the houses, as expected, as most of our competitors at Braehead are currently selling apartments and will not have houses until later stages, whilst we’re due to have houses ready for occupation next spring.

“That said, we’ve also had good interest in our apartments and have taken reservations on those too. We’re delighted with the response.”

Redrow has launched its latest venture from unit 37 within the Braehead shopping centre, which will be open daily for the next few months. Work is also underway to prepare an on-site marketing suite at the development, off Kings Inch Road, including a mock-up of a finished apartment. This is due to open in August, followed by two fully furnished show homes in early autumn.

Riverside Point will eventually comprise 342 new homes in a mix of apartments, two and three-bedroom terrace and semi-detached houses, three and four-bedroom townhouses and four-bedroom detached homes, thus creating a varied and vibrant community. The homes will share the footprint of Redrow’s existing design portfolio, but their contemporary exteriors will be quite different from the developer’s previous homes in Scotland.

Current availability from Redrow includes the three-bedroom Lambourne townhouse at £220,000, the four-bedroom Forth townhouse at £245,000 and the four-bedroom Ribble, with its roof space cleverly converted to create a sumptuous master bedroom and en-suite, from £255,000. There are also two-bedroom apartments from £147,750.

The area has fantastic local amenities – not least the Braehead shopping and leisure centre and Xscape family entertainments centre – as well as easy access to Glasgow city centre for commuters. Families will be attracted by the availability of several nurseries and primary schools in the area, whilst Renfrew High School is within walking distance. A health centre is located nearby, as is Southern General Hospital.
