Persimmon moves on up

17th February 2007 Print
Scotland’s leading housebuilder, Persimmon Homes has announced it is continuing to invest in the Perthshire area, with the launch of the company’s first ever Perth-based development.

“Through extensive research in the region, we saw a shortage of new housing in Perth and will therefore be satisfying this demand with a selection of some of our most favoured apartment styles,” explains Patsy McLaren, sales director for Persimmon Homes East Scotland.

Beechmount will consist of just 126, two bedroom apartments in a range of five differing styles. It is expected to reach a gross development value of £14.1 million and will launch this spring with first completions expected in autumn 2007.

Patsy continues: “We have witnessed an increase of 106 per cent in housing prices since 2001, demonstrating the growing requirement for housing in Perth. Persimmon will be offering a great range of new homes to suit a variety of househunters and at a price that is competitive and reasonably priced.”

The development is situated just a matter of from the centre of Perth and prices for the site are to be released shortly.

Patsy concludes: “This will be the first time we have decided to build in Perth and we saw a definite potential for the growth of the town. I believe that our new homes offering will be a great success among local househunters and am looking forward to the site’s launch later this year.”

Perth has a wide range of benefits, including a host of amenities, leisure facilities and its excellent commuter links to Dundee to the north and Edinburgh to the south.
