Home 'Sweethome'

The lower Spey Valley is a popular residential area with fine scenery and excellent facilities. Fochabers is well renowned for its excellent facilities including a good primary school, a secondary school, a selection of shops including a post office and convenience store, bank, art gallery, hairdressers and health centre. The adjoining village of Mosstodloch which is dominated by the famous Baxter Visitor Centre and factory also has a petrol filling station. Both Fochabers and Mosstodloch are within a mile of Sweethome.
The River Spey is of course famous as one of Scotland’s best salmon rivers and is an important draw for holiday makers and local residents. The surrounding scenery in the area is outstanding with good opportunities for hill walking, including the long distance path network along the Speyside Way. There are also popular mountain bike trails within the Ordiequish and Whiteash Hill woods adjacent to Fochabers. The area has many excellent golf courses, both links and park at Elgin, Rothes, Dufftown, Lossiemouth, Spey Bay, Cullen, Banff and a championship course at Nairn.
Jamie Watson, of selling agents Smiths Gore’s Fochabers office says:
“Sweethome enjoys complete privacy being tuck in to the wooded western slopes of the Spey valley, with stunning views across the Spey valley and looking south to Ben Rinnes, yet the property is only one mile from the village of Fochabers.”
“It is an ideal family home or a base for keen fishermen being only a short distance from the lower Spey Beats.”
Sweethope has been placed on the market for offers in excess of £280,000 for the whole.
