2nd phase released at Queen’s Gate in Newmachar Gladedale (North East Scotland) Ltd has released a second phase of luxurious refurbished apartments for sale on the site of the former Kingseat Hospital at Newmachar. And as an added boost for buyers, some of the spacious one and two-bedroom apartments are being sold through Gladedale’s new shared equity scheme – which means purchasers pay just 75% of the cost, bringing the cost down to around £180,000.

The second block of apartments, known as Birchlea, will be ready to move into this summer.

The original structure of the old hospital building has been retained, allowing Gladedale to create unique flats with their own character and Gladedale’s top specification finish.

Inside, the interiors have been completely renovated as can be seen in the stunning show flat, which comprises a spacious open plan living, dining and kitchen area, complete with French doors and huge sash and case windows which flood the space with light and overlook rolling fields.

The master bedroom has an ensuite shower room and there is a second bedroom with a separate bathroom.

The shared equity scheme allows buyers to pay just 75% of the price of their brand new home, while owning 100% of the property.

The outstanding 25% becomes an interest-free loan which is required to be repaid on the sale of the property or after 10 years.

There are a number of conditions – buyers can only buy one property under Shared Equity and no buy-to-let sales are allowed.

Purchasers must also use one of Gladedale’s approved mortgage brokers – but in most cases they won’t even need a deposit as the majority of the lenders will allow purchasers to borrow 100% of the 75% value.
