Post Office launches new business insurance

7th October 2009 Print
The Post Office has announced the launch of its new business insurance, further extending the range of services offered to UK businesses at Post Office branches.

Having the right insurance in place for a small business is essential, especially given that 80 per cent of companies that suffer a major incident or loss, fail within 18 months as a result of having inadequate insurance.

Post Office Business Insurance is competitively priced and can be tailored to meet the needs of businesses of all shapes and sizes. Businesses can select the cover which meets their individual requirements, with insurance available to include:

Protection against fire and theft
Employee and public liability
Professional indemnity
Tools/equipment
Business interruption e.g. if machinery breaks down or an accident closes your business temporarily.

At the Post Office, we can offer cover for at least 95 per cent of all small and medium sized companies, from dog beauticians to florists, and carpenters to plumbers.

To offer extra peace of mind, the Post Office also has a dedicated team on hand to help businesses identify what insurance they need by law and what extra cover might be helpful for other parts of their business, like professional indemnity.

Duncan Caesar-Gordon, Post Office head of business insurance, said: "The Post Office is at the heart of every local business community and our new policy will make it even easier for small companies to find business insurance without having to trawl the internet or look around.

"Millions of businesses use the Post Office everyday for our business banking and cash services and we can now support them even further with our simple to apply for Business Insurance."

Business customers also have the chance to win a year’s free Post Office Business Insurance in a special prize draw. To find out more, pick up a leaflet from any Post Office branch.
