Final affordable scheme at Torre Marine

19th October 2009 Print
Final affordable scheme at Torre Marine If you are a first-time buyer or key worker, you could buy a new home for 50 per cent of the asking price at Barratt’s Torre Marine development in Torquay. Find out more at a special First-time Buyer Weekend on Saturday October 24 and Sunday October 25.

But funds are now very limited for this scheme and Barratt sales manager Louise Terry said that time is running out for this initiative with just a handful of properties still available.

“We are holding this special weekend so that people can learn about our very successful First-Time Buyer Initiative scheme, a joint venture with the Homes and Communities Agency,” said Louise.

“The scheme is a government backed initiative, and allows first-time buyers and key workers to get a foot on the property ladder. They can buy 100 per cent of a new property for just 50 per cent of the purchase price, with the remainder being paid back after 10 years.

“Here at Torre Marine, prices for new homes sold through this scheme start from as little as £128,950, making them highly accessible to people who thought it would be impossible to buy in today’s economic climate,” Louise added.

Now in the third phase of development, Torre Marine offers a selection of one, two, three and four-bedroom homes. Current availability includes one-bedroom apartments priced from £128,950 and two-bedroom apartments priced from £139,000.

Torre Marine is located in Newton Road and it is just a 15-minute walk to the beach, marina and town centre. The railway station is also close by. The A385 and A38 offer easy access to the maritime city of Plymouth and the cathedral city of Exeter.
