Couple buy fourth home with George Wimpey New-home fans Ava Hall and John Bache are among George Wimpey’s greatest-ever customers – having just purchased their fourth property from the leading house-builder.

Ava (68) and partner John (71), who have lived in the West Midlands most of their lives, have just chosen a fabulous four-bedroom home at the Oakham Manor development in Lightmoor Village, Shropshire.

Explains Ava: “After John retired from his job as a manager of a German company in Telford, we thought we would spend our retirement by the sea, and moved to a bungalow near Mablethorpe in Lincolnshire, but it was too quiet for us and we missed having lots of local amenities, so we decided to move back to a home in a location we knew we would enjoy.

“John and I had lived in nearby Telford for about 13 years before we moved to our first George Wimpey home in Norton Canes. We followed that with two new George Wimpey homes in Rugeley, and we have been really impressed each time.

“When we moved to Mablethorpe we missed having the space of a proper house, and the finish you get in a new Wimpey home. We’ve looked around lots of other new homes in the past, but to us the specification is simply not as good.”

Ava, who enjoyed a variety of office jobs in the West Midlands before working for angling equipment specialists Preston Innovations in Telford, has chosen a clean white kitchen design for her new home at Oakham Manor, and the couple are to receive assistance with removals from George Wimpey, to make moving from the Lincolnshire coast as hassle-free as possible.

Although the four-bedroom ‘Orchard’ housetype Ava and John chose is now sold out at the development, the five-bedroom ‘Manor’ housetype has just been released for sale priced from £299,995, and features a large kitchen with semi-open plan breakfast room, a separate dining room, a lounge, utility room and study, plus two en-suites in addition to a main bathroom.

Three-bedroom homes start from £199,995, and a limited number of properties are also available at The Crescent within the development, laid out around an attractive village green.

All new homes at Oakham Manor are fitted with eco-features as standard including high levels of loft insulation, water-saving devices and A-rated appliances, plus a fitted kitchen complete with built-in oven, hob and hood.

The new 210-place primary school, due to open in September 2010, will have seven classes, a social play area and a multi-use games area for a range of sports and outdoor activities.

There will also be facilities within the school building to benefit the wider community at Lightmoor, including meeting rooms, a hall, indoor sports and recreation areas and changing rooms.

As at Bournville, long-term stewardship of the whole development will be secured by the Village Trust.

Lightmoor Village nestles in beautiful landscape between Telford and Coalbrook Dale and benefits from over 50 acres of open landscaped areas for leisure, sport and recreational use.

Lightmoor Village will also be well-served by existing and new public transport links, with a bus service to Telford town centre where a wider range of shops and schools for children of all ages can be found.

Commuters will appreciate that the M54 and M6 just a short drive away, while Telford’s railway station provides links to Wolverhampton and Birmingham.

George Wimpey offers a range of deals tailor-made for all types of buyers, and for those with a property to sell, the leading housebuilder’s easymover programme offers a range of attractive incentives on selected properties.

The Sales Centre, located at Lightmoor Village, Horsehay, is open Thursday to Monday from 11am to 5pm. For more information, visit georgewimpey.co.uk.
