Traditional family living at Merryfields in Brierley Hill Purchasers looking for a traditional family home, should look no further than to Barratt West Midlands’ Merryfields development on North Street in Brierley Hill, where a final three-bedroom Maidstone house type is now for sale.

Plot 78, is the final Maidstone style, three-bedroom, two-storey home for sale and is currently available to buy for only £151,250. The property is also available to buy with a range of home buying schemes, making this the ideal opportunity for young families looking for space to grow.

The spacious home benefits from a large living room, open plan kitchen and dining room, three well-proportioned bedrooms, en-suite to the master bedroom and main family bathroom.

Graydon Worthing, Sales Director for Barratt West Midlands commented, “The Maidstone is a fantastic family home, designed in a traditional style over two floors. This has made it one of our most popular home styles and it is no surprise that this is the final remaining home in this particular style at Merryfields.

“Along with being offered at the superb price of only £151,250, plot 78 is also available to buy with either our Head Start or HomeBuy Direct schemes. With these initiatives, the purchaser could move into this particular home for as little as £105,875.”

Head Start is a popular Barratt scheme and allows purchasers to buy their new home for only 85 per cent of the price, with no interest or rent to pay on the final 15 per cent. This is simply paid back as 15 per cent of the property’s open market value after ten years or up to the point of resale, whichever is sooner.

HomeBuy Direct is a Government scheme which is offered by Barratt. It allows purchasers to receive up to a 30 per cent loan on the value of their new home.

Graydon continued, “Both Head Start and Homebuy Direct have been specifically designed for first-time buyers currently struggling to get a foot onto the property ladder. It means that those who might have otherwise struggled to buy a home of their own, may find that they are now able to do so.

“With the schemes, the lucky purchaser of plot 78 could move into the property for only £128,563 with Head Start and only £105,875 with HomeBuy Direct.

“This is a great opportunity to buy a fantastic family home, but with just one still remaining, homebuyers should be quick to register their interest in order to avoid disappointment.”

HomeBuy Direct is open to first-time buyers, key workers and others who are currently renting. People who have previously owned a home but are now unable to do so – perhaps where relationships have broken down – can also apply.

Households eligible will be earning less than £60,000 and would not normally be able to afford to buy a suitable property on the open market. There is no interest to pay on the equity stake for the first five years, although a small fee will be charged from year six onwards.

Buyers can redeem the loan in instalments, purchasing up to 100 per cent of the equity after their initial purchase by buying additional equity at the market rate. Alternatively, if they sell their home, the equity loan is repaid by way of a proportionate share of the sale proceeds.

Paul Spooner, regional director for the West Midlands division of the Homes and Communities Agency, said: “In the current climate it’s important that we help a range of people to find the best housing option to suit them, and simultaneously help stimulate the building of new homes. HomeBuy Direct, with our £400 million investment, is just one way in which we’re doing this and it is proving extremely popular.”

Merryfields is situated half a mile from Brierley Hill town centre and only a mile and a half from Merry Hill shopping centre which offers a wide range of high street stores, supermarkets, cafes and even a cinema complex. It is also ideally located just three miles from Dudley town centre and 10 miles from Wolverhampton town centre.

Merryfields also offers a selection of two-bedroom apartments priced from £99,950 and three-bedroom houses priced from £157,000. For more information, log on to barratthomes.co.uk/merryfields.
