City living for less than £100k

Neil Sykes, sales director for Persimmon Homes Essex, explains: “At Persimmon we believe that purchasing a new home in a desirable area should be available to all, no matter what their financial situation, and we’re certainly proving this at Evolution.”
The homebuilder is offering a selection of differing one and two bedroom apartments as well as a number of three and four bedroom homes.
Persimmon has confirmed it’s commitment to first time buyers in Dagenham, offering them the chance to buy their new home through the Government-supported 70 per cent shared equity HomeBuy Direct scheme. Apartments at the development are therefore priced from £95,865.
HomeBuy Direct is available for those earning a household income of less than £60,000 who can not otherwise afford to purchase unassisted on the open market. Househunters will only be required to raise funding for 70 per cent of the purchase price including a mortgage plus any deposit, although this is not a necessity. The remaining 30 per cent is made up by an equity loan which is co-funded by the Government and Persimmon Homes.
Neil adds: “Our Evolution is the only new development in Dagenham at present with HomeBuy Direct and should come as welcome news to those looking to move home this year, as we’re not only offering desirable homes in a sought-after location, we’re also enabling purchasers to move with ease and without financial worry,”
Evolution benefits from a great location, under half a mile from Dagenham’s town centre, which hosts a number of High Street and independent shops as well as cafés, bars and restaurants. London is easily reached within 31 minutes via rail from the Dagenham Dock station to London Liverpool Street, Dagenham is also on the Tube line at Dagenham East or Heathway on the District Line making the development an ideal place to call home for commuters.
