Trio of tiny tots join residents at Evesham Meadows

First on the scene, arriving a month early, was baby Samuel whose parents, Shiri and Brian Harson moved to Evesham from Bristol to be closer to Brian’s new workplace. Shiri said: “Luckily, we didn’t have to spend too much time looking at houses. One of Brian’s colleagues had already bought a home at Evesham Meadows and had recommended it to us so we came for a visit and liked what we saw. Our new 3-bedroom home has all the space we need and has the bonus of facing the fields and the river. There are lots of young families here so it will be a great place for Samuel to grow up.”
Next door to Shiri and Brian are Anna and Phil Johns who have also just had their first child, Madeleine. The couple had grown out of their one-bedroom flat in town and fell in love with a three-storey, three-bedroom townhouse at Evesham Meadows. Anna commented: “I imagine that houses with stunning views like ours are hard to come by and this was a major factor in our decision to buy.” She added: “My father-in-law is a builder and he told us that the reputation Bloor has for its high standards is second to none and I must say that he was right. We are very impressed with the quality of finish at our house and the attention to detail is spot on. We love it here.”
Vicki and James Simper live just round the corner with two-year-old Megan and their newest addition to the family, baby Caitlin. Already living in Evesham, the couple chose to move to Evesham Meadows when Vicki fell pregnant the second time. “We were living in a 3-bedroom house and simply needed more space and, with a new baby on the way, it made sense for us to move into a home that didn’t need any work doing to it. A new build was perfect for us and we found a lovely 4-bedroom detached home here that has a really practical layout . The location is also really good and it falls into good school catchment areas so it will be handy when the girls are a bit older.”
Tracey Miller, Sales Adviser at the development, added: “We are delighted that these families have chosen to buy their new homes here - it’s a fabulous place to live; whether you are a family, a couple or an individual. We have lovely range of properties for sale, including three-, four- and five-bedroom homes. Prices start from just £199,950 and that’s for a Chadwell style property which has four double bedrooms, a study, two en-suites and a garage. We think that’s an exceptional price for a home of this size in this area, and with the special deals we have on selected plots, buying your new home here really is child’s play.”
Like Vicki and James, you may be able to purchase one of the properties at Evesham Meadows using Bloor Homes’ Part-Exchange scheme, aimed at those who need to sell their current property prior to purchase. This was a great help, said Vicki: “Using the scheme, we left everything to Bloor; we didn’t need to go through estate agents or get involved in organising viewings and it just made the whole process smoother and less stressful for us.”
Alternatively, buyers could benefit from Bloor’s HomesStart2 scheme which offers them the opportunity to initially pay just 85 per cent of the property price, with the remaining 15 per cent payable at any time within the first ten years, when the house is sold, when a purchaser’s financial circumstances improve, or simply by remortgaging at the end of the ten year period. This 15 per cent will be calculated at the current market value at the time it is repaid.
Shiri and Brian used this scheme, as did Anna and Phil. Both couples agreed that they could have got the money together to purchase without using HomesStart2, but with the expense of a new baby to think of, they didn’t want to overstretch themselves. Said Shiri: “This scheme is great, it’s like having an interest-free loan for ten years and the money we are saving on the mortgage will make a huge difference to us.”
