Debbie dives into new role at waterside development
Bloor Homes’ team of Sales Advisors at the Monk Meadow Quay development in Gloucester has been strengthened by the appointment of Debbie Baker who brings with her a wealth of experience following 12 years in a similar role with Barratt Homes.Debbie joins Nicky Matthews and Diane Paris, both of whom have been working at the site since its launch in march 2008 and will provide additional assistance to the growing numbers of homebuyers visiting the development.
Debbie said: “I bought a Barratt property 12 years ago and, while I was in the process of purchasing it, they offered me a job and I’ve never looked back. I really enjoy working in the housing industry; it’s really nice working with your clients from the moment they come for their first visit until they move into their property, and it’s always interesting to see the new developments taking shape. However, after 12 years with Barratt, I felt it was time for a change of scenery.
“I’d heard about Bloor’s great reputation, not only as a developer, but as an employer – and I was delighted when the position here became available. I’ve come to Monk Meadow Quay at a really exciting time as there is a lot going on. We’ve just launched our new showhome, and the regeneration of the docklands area as a whole is really moving apace now. It’s also encouraging to see the housing market is picking up and we are welcoming increasing numbers of visitors to the site so we are constantly busy, which I really enjoy.”
Currently available at the development are a range of 1, 2 and 3-bedroom homes with prices starting at just £119,950 and you can get a real feel for quality of homes available by visiting the brand new Hanthorpe style showhome. This is a traditional two-storey, four-bedroom home and it is open daily between 10.00am and 5.15pm for viewings. The showhome has been kitted out by NEXT, one of the most successful high street retailers, with a teal colour scheme designed to reflect the prime waterside location in which Monk Meadow is set.
Some of the plots may be available on Bloor Homes’ Part-Exchange scheme, aimed at those who need to sell their current property prior to purchase. The scheme effectively eliminates the need to hire estate agents, and deal with viewings, making the process as smooth and stress-free as possible.
Alternatively, buyers could benefit from Bloor’s HomesStart2 scheme which offers them the opportunity to initially pay just 85 per cent of the property price, with the remaining 15 per cent payable at any time within the first ten years, when the house is sold, when a purchaser’s financial circumstances improve, or simply by remortgaging at the end of the ten year period. This 15 per cent will be calculated at the current market value at the time it is repaid.
