Ski news iPhone app

InTheSnow magazine has launched the world’s first and only Ski News iPhone application. The InTheSnow application is available worldwide to download free from the Apple Store, perfect timing for the 2009/10 ski season. It contains ski and snowboard news from all over the world, and summaries of the best holiday offers, all updated daily.

“We saw a gap in the market,” said Dominic Killinger, the publisher and entrepreneur behind the innovative idea.

“The BBC, ITN and SKY each have their own World News Apps. The total number of App downloads since the launch of the Apple store in July 2007 has exceeded one billion, we just had to be a part of this phenomena. Skiers are huge internet users, for news, holiday offers and equipment reviews and up until now, there has been no iPhone application that delivers this kind of content. This is the first and it’s superb.”

InTheSnow’s News App is edited by Patrick Thorne described by The Times as “One of 20 People to Know in Ski." He has been a full time, year round, professional ski writer for 25 years and is nicknamed “The Snow Hunter.” Patrick has located 6,000 ski areas in 80 countries and for the past decade has published a year-round weekly bulletin of news from ski resorts worldwide, notching up more than 5,000 reports. InTheSnow would only settle for the best when they recruited Patrick as the News Editor.

The offers and savings are provided by Skitracer, the travel agency known for its PRICEWATCH service. Throughout the year, Skitracer’s PRICEWATCH features a summary of the best current offers and discounts drawn from the vast number of offers on the market. The travel agency offers hundreds of resorts worldwide and hundreds of thousands of beds in hotels, self-catering apartments and condominiums and catered chalets.

“At any one time there are literally thousands of offers about. We sift through these and identify which are the very best savings. We do the legwork for you and our advice is independent and up to the minute. We are thrilled to be able to share our Pricewatch service with iPhone Users worldwide.” said Simon McIntyre Sales Manager for Skitracer.
