Gulf Air continues support for 'Think Pink' campaign Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, is supporting the "Think Pink Bahrain" campaign for the fifth year in succession, and joining the rest of the world to raise awareness of breast cancer during the month of October.

Gulf Air will be the official carrier of the event - International Breast Cancer Awareness Month - an annual health campaign to be held during October, spearheaded by major breast cancer organizations across the world to increase awareness of the disease. A fund-raising gala dinner will be one of the highlights of the month-long campaign.

"Gulf Air is proud to be associated once again with the "Think Pink Bahrain" campaign that has been doing a selfless service to spread the awareness of the disease," says Gulf Air Chief Commercial Officer Mr. Willy Boulter.

"Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in women and there are hundreds of women, who are diagnosed with breast cancer every day. It is only with research, education and early intervention and public awareness that we can fight this disease. Gulf Air considers supporting this cause as one of its corporate social responsibilities."

In a show of support for the local community and a charity that is also home grown in Bahrain, Gulf Air cabin crew will be wearing the 'Pink Ribbons' on duty during the month of October. This token of support has not been shown on any international airline to date, and again Gulf Air is the platform for such a worthy cause. The ribbon will be worn by both female and male cabin crew members to highlight this disease has no prejudice.

The Think Pink Bahrain has been growing from strength to strength in spreading awareness of breast cancer. It acts as a catalyst to various members and companies in the community by encouraging and advocating their specific initiative to raise awareness within their niche.
