Ward Homes gets the go ahead for new homes in Crowborough

3rd November 2009 Print

Ward Homes has been awarded planning permission from Wealden Council for Martins Mews, a residential development of 26 homes on Blackness Road, Crowborough in East Sussex.

Formerly a farm and garden nursery, the 1.6 acre site is being transformed to provide an exciting range of apartments and houses, of which 20 will be for private sale.

Homes at Martins Mews will comprise two-bedroom apartments and two, three and four-bedroom terraced, semi-detached and link detached houses. In addition to the homes, the development will also feature several landscaped open spaces for residents to enjoy.

Nick Fenton, Managing Director for Ward Homes, said: “We are extremely pleased to have been awarded planning permission; the amount of interest we have already received has prompted us to bring forward the opening of our sales centre so that people have the opportunity to view the fantastic plans and reserve a plot early.

“In spite of the recent problematic housing market, Ward Homes has remained very successful and is now expanding beyond the Kent boundaries. Our White Sand development in Camber has proven extremely popular and we are looking forward to building on this reputation.”

Work has already started and the sales centre is now open on site, giving prospective purchasers the opportunity to view floor plans and take advantage of having the ‘pick of the plots’.

The site is adjacent to Whitehill Infant School and opposite Wolfe recreation ground with tennis courts and other leisure facilities. The town centre, with its numerous shops, supermarkets and pubs, is just a mile away. For a wider shopping experience, Royal Tunbridge Wells is seven miles distant and features the Royal Victoria Shopping Centre as well as a wide variety of boutiques, restaurants and wine bars.

Martins Mews is ideal for those commuting to London, situated just over a mile away from Crowborough railway station which provides frequent services to London Bridge, Waterloo East, Charing Cross and Victoria, taking approximately an hour. Conveniently located on the A26 between Tunbridge Wells and Lewes, Crowborough benefits from easy access to the A21 to London, which is 35 miles away. Gatwick Airport is approximately a 40 minute drive away. There is also a good local bus network which serves the town centre and surrounding towns and villages.

The first homes will be completed at the beginning of next year. Prices range from £219,995 for a two-bedroom coach house up to £324,995 for a four-bedroom link-detached house.
