Christmas tips and treats in the Cotswolds

Christmas is coming to Farncombe Estate near Broadway in the Cotswolds, from Sunday 22 November. This privately owned 300-acre estate will be hosting a Christmas Art and Craft Fair exhibiting work by course programme tutors as well as other local craftspeople.

Many of the items for sale at the event are handmade in the Cotswolds, and visitors have the chance to pick up a host of unique and interesting items whilst avoiding crowds and congested car parks.

From cakes and chocolates to ceramics, flowers and jewellery, the fair opens at 10.30am and closes at 3.30pm.  Admission and car parking at Farncombe are free and transport is available on the Estate to help visitors get around.

Annette Morris, Marketing Manager at Farncombe explains "We held this event for the first time last year and received such a positive response to the venue and the ambience that most of the exhibitors asked to return.  The Christmas fair is a great opportunity for our visitors to buy some really unique gifts, as well as having a look round this beautiful Cotswold estate. With the chance to talk to some of the tutors about their skills and courses, some could even start making their own gifts for Christmas!”

The Christmas Craft Fair marks the launch of Farncombe’s seasonal event programme for 2009, ending 20 December with a “Music of Christmas” afternoon with local historian and former composer Tim Porter.
