Deciding to move from your family home to a purpose built retirement apartment can be quite a daunting experience.  However, at McCarthy & Stone’s Ormond House development in Rochford, potential purchasers can now test drive an apartment without obligation following the introduction of a new ‘Try Before You Buy’ scheme.

Through the initiative, anyone considering purchasing an apartment at Ormond House will be able to stay in the development’s fully furnished one bedroom show apartment for up to two nights free of charge.

For two days, they can call the apartment ‘home’, make use of all the facilities at the development, meet the house manager, and other residents in the communal lounge, and enjoy the garden.  Visitors can also get a feel for the local area and work out the proximity to local shops and transport links.

Sharon Callcut, marketing manager for McCarthy & Stone South East, explains: “Living in a McCarthy & Stone retirement property offers many unique benefits that can only be appreciated by experiencing the lifestyle first hand.  Try Before You Buy is an easy-to-use and friendly service that enables people to live in one of our apartments and see for themselves without any obligation.  I would encourage anyone who is interested in a retirement property to give it a go!”

In common with all McCarthy & Stone developments, Ormond House is designed exclusively for people over the age of 60 who want a manageable and secure home that enables them to maintain their independence.  Each apartment is private and self-contained and includes a number of thoughtful design features including 24-hour emergency Careline call points, electrical sockets at a raised height to reduce bending, illuminated light switches, a security entry system, easy grip lever taps in the bathroom and kitchen and energy efficient heating.

The development itself comprises 29 one and two bedroom apartments.  Situated just off North Street in historic Rochford, Ormond House is at the very heart of the town centre.  Rochford benefits from excellent transport links including a mainline railway station, offering journeys to Southend and central London, as well as numerous local bus services.

For further information about Try Before You Buy and the apartments currently available at Ormond House, visit the development on Roche Close, open Tuesday to Saturday from 10.30am to 5.00pm or log on to mccarthyandstone.co.uk .
