Valuable help for would-be home owners in Sherburn

A government-backed help scheme to get people onto the property ladder has been extended to Redrow’s Saxon Court venture in the North Yorkshire village of Sherburn in Elmet.

 

Eligible home owners can now take advantage of HomeBuy Direct, taking out an equity loan for up to 30% of the purchase price on selected properties at Saxon Court, making home ownership cheaper and easier to achieve.

 

Patsy Aicken, sales director for Redrow Homes (Yorkshire), explains: “The equity loan is jointly funded by the Homes and Community Agency and Redrow. Crucially, it’s interest-free for the first five years.

 

“It means that eligible customers could own a brand new home of their own for an initial outlay as low as £80,500.”

 

HomeBuy Direct has been extended to a selection of two-bedroom ‘Argal’ apartments from £115,000 and three-bedroom ‘Farnell’ houses from £184,950 at Saxon Court.

 

First time buyers, key workers, people re-entering the property market after a relationship break-up and families facing overcrowded accommodation are among those who can apply for these homes – provided their annual household income is less than £60,000.

 

Customers will own 100% of their home from day one – but only have to pay between 70 and 85% of the purchase price. They can start purchasing the remaining share in instalments after just 12 months.

Home owners will also benefit from owning a quality built, brand new home that’s easy to maintain and efficient to run. It won’t require any of the costly repairs or renovations of an older second hand property and it will feature Redrow’s latest interior specification, including contemporary kitchens with floor to ceiling units and top brand name appliances.

 

Saxon Court is the third development for award-winning Redrow in the Selby district, following on from the popular Mulberry Grange in Hambleton and affordable first time buyer properties at Debut @ Selby.

 

Situated between Leeds and York, with good access to the A1, M1 and M62, the village of Sherburn in Elmet is an attractive location for commuters, with good transport links to Leeds and York. Local amenities include shops, pubs, restaurants and a leisure centre, while nearby Selby has more extensive facilities, including a shopping centre and market.
