Equilibrium in Godre’Graig with Taylor Wimpey

A subtle palette of cream, aqua and green has been used to highlight the spacious interior of the Hurstwood showhome at Taylor Wimpey’s Glyn Mynydd development in Godre’Graig.

The detached, four bedroom property has been professionally decorated to exude a sense of equilibrium, perfectly showcased by the interior designer’s use of key earth colours.

The Hurstwood’s open plan reception room is calming in beige and cream with one wall, textured in aqua and gold harlequin wallpaper, tying the house’s natural and water-based colour schemes together within this relaxation space. Features include dark woodgrain furnishings, adding a sense of depth, and the cool freshness of two pale blue sofas brightening the room. A regal ceiling chandelier draws visitors’ eyes while a white metal leaf-framed mirror provides a dramatic focal point.

The large kitchen diner is simple with light wood cupboards, sand tiling, integrated stainless steel appliances and ceiling spotlights working with the black granite worktops and ceramic flooring to make this space easy to keep clean. A convenient adjoining utility room provides the ideal place to do household laundry outside the kitchen while the dining area, situated next to double doors leading out to the garden, creates a perfect space to sit and eat as a family. The dark wood dining table mirrors the kitchen’s use of swarthy materials while highback cream leather ‘sink in’ chairs invite guests to sit and be entertained in comfort and style.

Upstairs, the master bedroom has its own en-suite shower room and fitted wardrobes. Whitewash walls enhance the space within this room and highlight the duvet-wrapped double bed at its cosy centre. Light curtains and dark mahogany furniture combine to create a natural freshness and harmony within this room, which is only further enhanced by decorative full length strip-mirroring on the wall and a glass chandelier hanging over the bed.

The second bedroom’s vertically striped feature wall sits behind the double bed. Made up of fresh pastel and khaki greens, this textured wall creates a stimulating yet soothing focus. A cream latticed headboard lightens the brown silk bedding and beige full-length curtains while dark wood furnishings, aqua bedside lamps patterned with leafs and a ceiling chandalier tie this space to the resplendent earthy décor downstairs.

Simple in creams, pale blues and soft pastel greens, the third and fourth bedrooms would be ideal for children and have been decorated so, with sporting apparatus indicating the third bedroom as a little boy’s room and a cot in the fourth bedroom, or baby’s room.

Sara Taylor, regional sales and marketing director, said: “The current trend for earthy greens and natural materials have been combined to create the ultimate in luxury décor within the Hurstwood showhome at our Glyn Mynydd development. This stunning four bedroom home is a perfect example of key designs being pulled together to showcase the calming yet invigorating ambiance many buyers desire.”
