Country & Metropolitan Homes returns to Midlands and the South

13th November 2009 Print

House builder Country & Metropolitan Homes, last seen in 2007, is returning to the Midlands and the South of England as part of a new growth strategy unveiled by parent company, Gladedale Holdings.

Elaine Dufaur, Sales and Marketing Director of Country & Metropolitan, said: “Country & Metropolitan Homes was for many years one of the best known house builders with a proud tradition of building quality homes across the South of England and the Midlands.

“That ethos never went away but the company was re-named Gladedale in 2007 by our parent company.

“As we emerge from the economic downturn and the housing market starts to gain momentum, we have decided to concentrate fully on building a business which is focused on meeting local needs and delivering homes that are a benefit to the community. We feel that a return to the Country & Metropolitan brand encapsulates that perfectly.

“We continue to maintain a strong land bank and also plan to invest in our strategic land bank over the next three years to continue to drive the company forward. The future lies in returning to our core values as a local developer of quality homes across these regions.”

Country & Metropolitan Homes was established in 1990 and specialised in restoring important historic buildings and redeveloping brownfield and redundant sites.

Ms Dufaur added: “We are building a business which is focused on delivering at a local level and can react quickly to changes in market conditions to ensure we meet the needs of homeowners.

“We are also committed to remaining at the forefront of innovation in order to drive the business forward and firmly re-establish Country & Metropolitan Homes as one of the leading housebuilders in the Midlands, Home Counties and the South East.”

With its headquarters in Harefield, Middlesex, Country & Metropolitan Homes has a strong presence with developments across the length and breadth of these regions, featuring a range of properties from one-bedroom apartments through to larger family homes.

Developments include Royal Quay on the banks of the Thames in London’s East End; The Garrison in Shoeburyness, Essex; Redhouse Park in Milton Keynes; Harpers Brook in Little Stanion, Northamptonshire and Imperial Place in Hitchin, Hertfordshire.
