The Share Centre wins Shares' Best Small Cap Broker Award
Retail stockbroker, The Share Centre, won the award for Best Small Cap Broker last week (Tuesday 17 November) at Shares Magazine's 2009 Awards ceremony, held at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London.
The award, which was voted for by Shares Magazine's readers, aims to identify the broker who offers the best service for those wishing to invest in the smaller company sector.
Commenting on The Share Centre's success and the voting process, Russ Mould, editor of Shares Magazine, said: "It is of enormous credit to The Share Centre that our readers have voted to give them the 2009 award for the Best Small Cap Broker category. To win such a fiercely-contested heat after what has been a very volatile year in the markets is a real achievement and clearly shows how our readers have appreciated The Share Centre's commitment to providing investors with the very highest quality of service."
The Share Centre beat the likes of Alexander David Securities, Barclays Stockbrokers, E*Trade Securities, Hoodless Brennan, Selftrade and TD Waterhouse to claim the prize.
On accepting the Award, Guy Knight, group sales and marketing director at The Share Centre, said: "We are delighted to have won the award for Best Small Cap Broker as it recognises our commitment to provide good quality investment research and dealing, which is key for small cap investors.
"Cost is also an important factor for small cap investors as they are more likely to invest a smaller sum than they would in more established companies. Our low minimum charge of just £7.50 is ideal for the small cap investor and our simplified investing process, whether online or on the phone also gives them the opportunity to deal in the values they require," Knight concluded.
