Corby purchasers vote with their feet

Walton Homes has credited the high sales rate at Radbrook Rise in Corby to the popularity of its Lion’s Share initiative, which enables purchasers to pay for just 75 per cent of the value of the property.
While the Government’s HomeBuy Direct scheme is available at other developments in the area, the time it takes to process the application has deterred a number of people who have since chosen to invest in a new home at Radbrook Rise.
Three bedroom houses are priced at £115,000, while four bedroom homes are priced from £149,995 to £179,950. With the vast majority of homes now occupied, a new community has already formed at Radbrook Rise, which is situated off Gainsborough Road and the construction programme is in its final phase.
Helen Rollason, new homes sales coordinator at Walton Homes, said: “There is a good range of very competitive mortgage products available for people buying a home at Radbrook Rise through our Lion’s Share scheme. Furthermore, we can process a sale very quickly, so much so that if you chose your preferred plot and make a reservation now, you could be enjoying living in your new home early in the New Year. With the Government’s HomeBuy Direct initiative, we have heard a number of stories of people having to wait six months for their application to be processed.
“With the Lion’s Share, you only need to pay a five per cent deposit and then the remainder of the 75 per cent of the property’s value can be covered through a conventional mortgage. The remaining 25 per cent is paid for by Walton Homes and this value only needs to be reimbursed when you sell your home, or after 10 years, whichever happens first. The best thing about this scheme is that there is no strict criteria to meet - the Lion’s Share is available to all.”
A selection of four house types is currently available at Radbrook Rise; the three bedroom Ebington and Hamble designs and the four bedroom Hinton and Elford homes.
The majority of the homes feature en suite bathrooms off the master bedroom and many homes also have the benefit of garages. Each new home at Radbrook Rise comes with a 10 year NHBC guarantee.
Radbrook Rise is ideally located close to Corby town centre and commuter links across the region. The A14 is a 15 minute drive away, opening up routes to Northampton, Peterborough, Leicester, Birmingham and beyond. A direct train service links Corby to London’s St Pancras station in only one hour and 20 minutes, meaning that the town is fast becoming a hot spot for city commuters.
