Landlords feel the benefit of British Gas

27th November 2009 Print

British Gas have joined forces with the National Landlords Association (NLA), the UK's leading representative body for private-residential landlords, as part of the NLA's Recognised Supplier Scheme.

The firm will join 17 other NLA Recognised Suppliers in providing landlords with the products and services they need to run their lettings business and ensure they meet their legal requirements. NLA landlords come from all walks of life, from those with one bedroom flats; to landlords with hundreds of properties - and each has very specific needs.

Among the many benefits offered by British Gas, landlords will be given help to manage tenancy changes efficiently. Other benefits include a dedicated account manager and access to discounts from the maintenance and repair range. Void periods can be enough of a worry for landlords, but British Gas won't charge landlords standing charges when a property is empty. And they will even offer both landlord and tenant free energy efficiency advice.

Paul Berwick, Head of Marketing, NLA; "Landlords are a key part of housing market, and it is great to see prestigious companies such as British Gas turning their attention to providing specific services to landlords. Life as a landlord can be difficult, particularly in the current climate, so we welcome the fact our recognised suppliers are thinking about landlords' needs and how they can best help them.

"Recognised suppliers are trusted by NLA members and non-members because they know the companies that are part of the scheme are reliable and will provide excellent standards at the most cost-effective prices. Of course landlords can shop around, but NLA members will find considerable discounts from using the scheme."
