Avoid sky-high booking fees with Caxton FX
As of 1st January 2009, Ryanair will start charging all debit and credit card passengers a €5 per person booking fee. The only way fliers will be able to avoid the administration cost, is by signing up for a MasterCard prepaid card.
Ryanair's Stephen McNamara said: "Passengers can use their MasterCard prepaid cards to pay for flights from 1 December, while our Visa Electron promotion comes to an end on December 31."
By using a Caxton FX pre-paid MasterCard customers can avoid paying these additional fees. Caxton FX Currency Cards are easy use. James Hickman, Managing Director at Caxton FX, says "Caxton FX Currency Cards continue to be the best way to pay for travel expenses. We work hard to remove unnecessary fees and costs, and we are delighted, that once again, our prepaid Currency Cards will deliver cost savings to our customers."
Consumer groups argue that if airlines do not offer a free payment option, they would have to increase their advertised prices to include the charge. Banks claim that it will cost Ryanair less than €1 to process the transaction. This latest development is part of a growing trend in the UK service industry towards levying charges for administration and processing. Caxton FX Currency Cards led the fight against this movement by removing all overseas ATM withdrawal fees - meaning customers don't have to pay to take out their own cash.
All Caxton FX Currency Cards are Chip and PIN MasterCard giving you a safe way to spend overseas. Available in euros, dollars or Global Traveller cards, they are accepted worldwide, wherever you see the MasterCard sign.
