Have your own Twilight adventure with TrekAmerica

7th December 2009 Print

Stephanie Meyer’s Twilight saga has taken the world by storm and now travellers can have their own Twilight Adventure on a brand new tour from TrekAmerica.

During the 12-day itinerary, Twilight fans will visit many of the locations made famous by the books and films in both Oregon and Washington State.

TrekAmerica has scheduled four departures of the Twilight Adventure in 2010. Each tour departure coincides with the full moon, with travellers embarking on a nocturnal kayak tour of Scappoose Bay, looking out for otter, beaver and other creatures of the night that might be lurking.

The small town of St Helens in Oregon is where much of the movie was filmed and there will be the opportunity for Twilight enthusiasts to visit Bloated Toad, the restaurant where Bella and Edward dine and Thunderbird and Whale, the bookstore visited by Bella.

A private tour of the Twilight towns of Forks and La Push is included in the itinerary, visiting the Forks Welcome Sign, Forks Community Hospital, Police Department, the Cullen and Swan homes, Second Beach and Quileute Indian Reservation.

As with all of TrekAmerica’s tours, the stunning wilderness of North America will play a starring role in this itinerary. Travellers will spend time hiking in Mount Rainier National Park, Olympic National Park and Silver Falls State Park as well as visiting some of the scenic outdoors settings used in the movies – the beach where Jacob tells Bella about Quileute legends and Multnomah Falls where Bella plays baseball with the Cullens.

No visit to the Pacific Northwest region would be complete without a visit to the famous Mount St. Helen’s - travellers will be left in awe by the crater from the volcano’s 1980 eruption. After 11 nights of camping in the wilderness and visiting Twilight locations, travellers will be ready to embrace their inner vampire or werewolf.

The first Twilight Adventure departs Portland, Oregon on May 27th 2010 and costs £699 per person excluding flights. The tour ends in Seattle. Further departure dates are available in June, July and August 2010.

Included in the price is Forks and La Push Twilight tour, sightseeing tours of various movie locations, the nocturnal kayak tour, Puget Sound ferry ride, entrance to all national parks and monuments as per the itinerary, the services of a TrekAmerica tour leader, transport by private adventure vehicle and 11 nights camping fees and equipment.
